Valentine's Day

"To-morrow is Saint Valentine's day,

All in the morning betime,

And I a maid at your window,

To be your Valentine.

Then up he rose, and donn'd his clothes,

And dupp'd the chamber-door;

Let in the maid, that out a maidNever departed more."

(William Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act IV, Scene 5)

why is valentine's day only one day, we give gifts, flowers, and cakes

I would be happy if everyday would be a valentine's day

Why should we wait for this ONE day to tell our partner that we love them and give them gifts?

I am against this one day love.

The day you accept someone to become part of your life then from that day only you should be taking care of that part. Not only in Valentine's Day that you will remember the person and cherish him/her with love, attention, care and gifts.

Quarelling couples

Women are complicated..
"They are meant to be loved and not understood"....as someone said. The more you try to understand them the more you tend to forget yourself. You will never be able to know what there is in their heart.

But I believe men are complicated too..

" Try to understand them and you are bound to go mad" ...as someone again said. How much you may believe that you know them but the fact remain that they are and will always be an alien to you.

However what I found during my research is amazing.

Quarrelling couples live longer:

London: Having a blazing row with your spouse could be the secret to a long life. A study has shown that a good fight with your other half may be good for your health.
Husbands and wives who bury their differences and keep the anger inside are likely to die earlier than those who let the sparks fly, researchers found. This is because trying to resolve conflict — even in a heated manner — is better for your health than bottling up tension, they argue.

During the study, 192 couples — differentiated into four categories — were kept under observation for over 17 years. The first category consisted of couples where both partners communicated their anger, the second of couples where the husband showed anger while the wife suppressed it, the third comprised couples where only the wife showed anger and the fourth where both parties suppressed it.

It was found that during the period of study death was twice as likely in the fourth group as compared to the chances of other three.
The results held good even when other factors such as age, smoking, weight, blood pressure, bronchial problems and cardiovascular risk were taken into account.

"When couples get together, one of their main jobs is reconciliation about conflict. Usually nobody is trained to do this. The key matter is, when the conflict happens, how do you resolve it," Ernest Harburg, professor emeritus at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, which conducted the study, was quoted by Daily Mail as saying.
"When you don't, if you bury your anger, and you brood on it and you resent the other person or the attacker, and you don't try to resolve the problem, then you're in trouble," he said.

Professor Harburg stressed that the preliminary figures are small, and that researchers are now collecting follow-up data spread over 30 years.

Remember..

I'm not afraid about the 10 000 moves you practiced one time..

But I'm afraid about the one move you practiced for 10 000 times....

Every person like to be praised and appreciated

"Whether they show it or not, but deep inside they feel good about it.. " ;-)

I was reading a book and i came across something which is very interesting..

Some people say that they are very practical but does praising or appreciating make someone them emotional??

Every one like to be praised or appreciated because somewhere they believe that they are worth it and why not as far as i understand every person is unique.." What I have You don't have and What You have I don't have..." So every one is special and equal.

Some say that they don't like all these stuffs..but I know that somewhere deep inside they are waiting for people or someone special to praise them or appreciate them.

Appreciation should not be asked but it is received without any invitation. So if you think someone deserve praises or appreciation then don't hesitate but cease the opportunity to tell them that they worth a lot..

Human Behaviour

I fail to understand the split in human behaviour. Sometimes they behave differently forcing you to think if it is the same that you were expecting.

Is it possible that everything one is, does, and experiences is a function of the brain, just as Emily Dickinson suggested nearly one hundred and fifty years ago? Could it be that one is who one is because of what one's brain is? And that becoming something different means changing the brain? If so, what are the implications of this? Do we lose something, or is the brain actually big enough, as Dickinson suggested, to contain everything? If so, what might we be able to do that has never before been possible? What are the risks, the gains, the new landscapes which would be opened to explore?

Human behavior is the collection of behaviors exhibited by human beings and influenced by culture, attitudes, emotions, values, ethics, authority, rapport, hypnosis, persuasion, coercion and/or genetics

However as simple human being I better talk simply of what affect us.

For Example: In a couple Behaviour is as much essential as it is one of the core bases on which a relation is founded. I believe if each of the partner behave according to the norms in a couple then no negative aspect shall exist.

Pornography

Pornography or porn is the explicit depiction of sexual subject matter with the sole intention of sexually exciting the viewer.

Pornography industry, in an “almost” not safe for work format. It is staggering how much actual money flows through porn and how many people are involved in the industry:

89% of porn is created in the U.S.

$2.84 billion in revenue was generated from U.S. porn sites in 2006

$89/second is spent on porn

72% of porn viewers are men

260 new porn sites go online daily

The pornography industry is larger than the revenues of the top technology companies combined: Microsoft, Google, Amazon, eBay, Yahoo!, Apple

Feelings..how's strange!

I believe taking care of someone too much is not good. Sometimes you forget that you got a life for yourself and need to take care of that too...

We should always expect the unexpected. We expect understanding, maturity, responsibility and consideration from the other partner but how discouraged we are when all these are not acquired...So if we care for a person why do we wait for that person to care for us...

However being human we have the tendency to wait for the better..Today I have realised that instead of waiting for the better I should move with my life, move without expecting something, move ahead with my sole 'Me', move alone...

And if that person wants to walk with you then don't look behind but look beside and if the person is not found then continue to walk without any regret and if that person is found beside you then don't haste in holding hands..be brave to walk alone..who knows you might get down the bus...

Believing you are right does not mean that the other person thinks the same. So controversy will always exist. Never count on that person..

Pregnancy... a beautiful moment....

The embryonic disk has become thicker and oval in shape, coiled up because the outermost layer, the ectoderm, has developed faster than the endoderm. One end of it has swollen to form the brain, and the other corresponds to the coccyx. Between the two, the neural groove will form the central nervous system.

The arm buds and then the leg buds quickly develop into limb segments and two weeks later the hands and spatula-shaped feet arise at the limb extremities. Later on, i.e. during the second half of this month, the fingers separate and acquire a tapered aspect while the limbs continue to grow longer. The knee, ankle, elbow and wrist joints also form.

In the brain, cells are multiplying and will continue to multiply until the 16th week of pregnancy, (about 3 and a half months) when several billion neurons will be produced, and at certain times, almost 250,000 per minute.

The placental membrane allows exchanges to occur more freely between mother and fetus. The fetus grows, becomes more human-looking and tends to become more independent. The placenta: a more permeable barrier.

The head, which is more prominent than the body at the beginning of the Second Month, continues to grow. The large protruding forehead takes up half of the face. The outline of the chin and neck form and separate from the trunk. The rounded protrusion of the eyes appears as a pigmented black spot, without eyelids, and connected to the brain by the optic stalk which later becomes the optic nerve. The buds for the deciduous or milk teeth form.

The fetus has become a small, vigorous being and can clench his fists and grip an object since he now possesses the grasping reflex. He now moves every day and manifests his presence so that if the mother no longer feels him move at any time during a 24 hour period, she should not hesitate to call her physician; however, the fetus may remain immobile for a few hours while sleeping.

During the 7th month, the fetus who is growing and gaining weight takes up more and more room and there is less amniotic fluid. It is during these last three months of terms that the fetus grows the most; his weight triples between six and nine months of pregnancy.

Prenatal learning and memorization of sounds may exist. Many experiments have been conducted over the last few years in an effort to determine more precisely the hearing ability of the fetus in utero. What does the fetus hear? And can the fetus remember sounds heard during intrauterine development?

During the last month of pregnancy, you should visit your physician weekly. In addition to sleep disturbances, you may experience a feeling of major lassitude and impairment due to the increasing size of the fetus. You are prepared for childbirth and you impatiently wait for the first signs of labor.

Euthanasia

Autonomy is defined as the "the right of self government or personal freedom"1. Every person has the right to make personal and private decisions about their own lives defined in the American Constitution as "the right to privacy". Since death is the most personal of all things, the individual should have the right to dictate when they die and in what circumstances they do so.
To deny people the choice of death by active euthanasia is to force them to do something that is against their will and may well prolong their suffering, and therefore lose human dignity and decency. Death should be with dignity but modern medicine has prevented nature running its natural course. Not allowing a patient to end their life with dignity and free from pain is inhuman and leads to an increase in the callousness of society and a development of a disregard for the quality of life in the face of a choice with quantity of life.

Those against euthanasia claim that patients are often too affected by their illness to make adequate decisions about their future, but this denies them their true autonomy because every decision that is made regardless of the context is always influenced by internal and external factors.
If "society recognises the autonomy of individuals by granting them the right to pursue their views about the good life and create their own lives" then the logical consequence is to allow people to decide their own death.

Euthanasia allows patients death with dignity because continuing to live can inflict more problems, on both the patient having to cope with the pain and indignity of a prolonged death, and the family because it is distressing having to witness the gradual decline of a loved one.
With terminal illness there are two choices: let the disease run its course, or allow the inevitable to death to come sooner. The question is which one is of more benefit to the patient and acts in their best interests? Death is the lesser of two evils with regards to pain and suffering for 2 reasons:
The patient is prevented from dying painfully and slowly by ending it quickly and painfully.
The best interests of the patient are granted when the doctor allows and respects their autonomy
The problem is that there is no definitive point at which it can be said that life becomes too burdensome for an individual. To cope with this society can allow the withdrawal of treatment from individuals when it is deemed futile but this only serves to prolong the agony and may increase the suffering of the patient. The legalisation of euthanasia would allow the introduction of a quick and easy death when all other medical interventions are futile and is deemed to beneficent to the patient. Since one of the main aims of medicine is to relieve suffering, it is surely a medical duty to relieve the suffering of a patient through death.

Euthanasia allows the greatest good for the greatest number of people because:
The patient’s suffering is removed
The family can grieve properly
Medical staff can avoid grief and stress
The very high costs of terminal care for the patient are removed

Will it end?

Where are we heading?

Obama swearing in ceremony is awaited with bated death!

"President–elect Barack Obama is being considered as a harbinger of prosperity, peace & economic stability not only for America but for the world community as well.

This has put Obama under great pressure as he is well aware of the expectations that Americans have on him. Being the President of America is a great responsibility and therefore Obama has to tread the path with great caution & a lot of patience.

The 8 years of Bush’s regime was marred with incompetence. Some of his decisions did more harm than good for America. The greatest example is the Iraq war. Nobody would argue against it because it was really stupidity on the part of George Bush to send his troops to Iraq when it was evident that Saddam Hussein had no hand in the Sept 9/11 attack.

His decision divided the world community, which otherwise was one when it came to terrorism. The financial crisis was the last straw that ended the Bush era. After becoming the President, Obama has several issues to resolve.

The first one is the American troops fighting it out in the Iraqi terrains. The public expects him to withdraw the troops from Iraq unconditionally. Then there is the global economic crisis which has left most Americans jobless. He has promised to put an end to outsourcing.

And the last but not the least is the issue of Islamic terrorism. It’s to be seen howz Obama going to resolve these burning issues? Let’s see how may promises are fulfilled."
